UrbanWild is founded by Hemant and Akanksha, lifelong outdoor enthusiasts united by a passion for adventure, community, and meaningful experiences.
Hemant is an IIT Bombay graduate, Everest summiteer, outdoor educator trained at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), USA, and former Head of Sports & Adventure Ecosystem at Tata Steel. Over the last 15 years, he has built and led some of India's most respected sports and adventure initiatives, creating opportunities for thousands of people to discover the outdoors, challenge themselves, and grow through experience. His journey — from the steel plant to the mountains — continues to shape UrbanWild's belief that adventure has the power to transform lives.
Akanksha is an engineer, entrepreneur, and outdoor enthusiast with experience across operations, customer engagement, and program delivery. A passionate climber and high-altitude trekker, she brings a deep understanding of people, community, and the thoughtful details that transform an activity into a meaningful experience.
Together, they are building UrbanWild to inspire more people to step outside, embrace challenge, and experience life more fully.
